The kam lu wantán is one of the most popular and delicious dishes of Chifa cuisine in Peru. It features a sweet and sour flavor combination that truly makes it exquisite. It is prepared with a mix of meats, fruits, and vegetables that are soaked in a delicious tamarind sauce.

Kam lu wantán
Ingredients
200 grams of Ground pork
200 grams of Chopped chicken
200 grams of Cut chicken breast
100 grams of Fresh cleaned shrimp
6 Green onions
1 Red bell pepper
1 tablespoon of Chopped garlic
3 tablespoons of Chopped chuno
1 Wonton pasta package
3 tablespoons of Ketchup
2 tablespoons of White vinegar
2 tablespoons of Ground ginger
1 teaspoon of Sillao (soy sauce)
¼ cup of Pineapple slices in syrup
¼ cup of Canned peaches in syrup, chopped
1 cup of Holantao (a type of chinese sweet paste)
Chinese cinnamon
Olive oil
Cooking oil
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : In a bowl, place the pork and chicken meats and season with salt, pepper, ginger, green onions, chopped chuno, and sesame oil.
Step 2 : Then, fill the wonton dough with the mixture and fry in abundant hot oil.
Step 3 : For the tamarind sauce, cook ketchup with vinegar in a pot, add ground ginger, water, and a touch of sugar.
Step 4 : Bring to a boil and cook for approximately 5 minutes.
Step 5 : Set aside.
Step 6 : In another bowl, place the chicken breast pieces and season with soy sauce, Chinese cinnamon, and sesame oil.
Step 7 : Fry in a skillet with hot oil until golden.
Step 8 : Set aside.
Step 9 : In the same skillet, sauté some garlic and shrimp for 2 minutes.
Step 10 : Then, add the chicken, fruits, and tamarind sauce, mixing well.
Step 11 : Finally, serve the dish accompanied by the wantans and garnish with sesame seeds.
