Peruvian Purple Corn Drink
Ingredients
¾ kilogram of Dried purple corn
5 liters of Water
1 Ripe pineapple
4 Lemons
1 cup of Sugar
7 Cloves
1 Cinnamon stick
3 Apples
Preparation
Step 1 : Wash the pineapple and apples and remove their skins.
Step 2 : In a pot, pour three liters of water and add the pineapple and apple peels, along with the dried purple corn, cloves, and cinnamon stick.
Step 3 : Bring to a boil over high heat.
Step 4 : Then, reduce the heat and cook for 50 minutes.
Step 5 : After that time, strain the liquid and set aside.
Step 6 : In the same pot, add one and a half liters of water to the fruit peels and purple corn.
Step 7 : Cook over high heat until boiling, then reduce the heat and cook for an additional 45 minutes.
Step 8 : Afterward, strain and add the liquid to the previously reserved one.
Step 9 : Refrigerate for at least two hours.
Step 10 : Cut the pineapple and apple into small pieces.
Step 11 : When serving, add lemon juice to the drink, incorporate the sugar, and include the chopped fruits.
Step 12 : Serve chilled.
