The peach mazamorra is another traditional dessert in Peruvian cuisine, similar in concept to purple mazamorra, but with a different flavor and preparation. This sweet is characterized by its peach (or nectarine) flavor and smooth texture.
Easy Peach Mazamorra
Ingredients
5 cups of Water
2 Medium cinnamon sticks
4 Cloves
8 Peeled and chopped peaches (save the peel)
5 tablespoons of Sugar
¼ cup of Cornstarch
¼ cup of Cold water for cornstarch
Preparation
Step 1 : Place water, cinnamon, cloves, and the washed peach peel in a pot. Bring to a boil for 14 minutes, then remove the peels, cinnamon, and cloves.
Step 2 : Add the chopped peaches and sugar. Cook for another 10 minutes.
Step 3 : In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch with the cold water.
Step 4 : Add the dissolved cornstarch into the pot with the peaches. Mix well to avoid lumps. Cook for 5 minutes and turn off the heat.
Step 5 : Let cool and serve.
